At the heart of these celebrations is the highly-anticipated Christmas Lights Extravaganza, November 29th through January 5th, a captivating event that features thousands of lights gloriously synchronized to music, creating an unforgettable experience for all ages. Plus, this year the lights stretch even further than ever before! Make your way to beautiful Mercer Village within the historic Mercer University campus footprint. Here, Habitat for Humanity's “Light More Homes” annual Christmas light display brings joy to thousands each year, and literally "light more homes" by raising funds to build homes in Macon-Bibb and the surrounding area. This year's "Light More Homes Candy Cane Lane" at Mercer Village can be viewed starting on November 21st, with even additional lights expected to be lit on December 3rd through the holiday season.

What is the Christmas Light Extravaganza?

Hay House Christmas: This year visit Santa on November 23rd where you can get a selfie in this architectural wonder dubbed “the palace of the south.” Or, you can visit the Hay House during the month of December to experience the charm of a 19th century Christmas at Hay House’s “Christmas Candlelight Tour!” Explore the first three levels of the mension, beautifully decorated for the holiday season, at a pace that suits your comfort and convenience. Or, consider attending a Hay House Luncheon, where you’ll enjoy a sumptuous, holiday plated lunch, prepared by one of Macon’s premier caterers, followed by a self-guided tour.
Public Ice Skating: Each winter, the Macon Centreplex transforms into a winter wonderland with its annual tradition of public ice skating. As part of its 2024 schedule, the Macon Coliseum is set to open its rink for several months, aligning public skating sessions between Macon Mayhem hockey games.
