For an adventure that reaches back thousands of years, head to Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park. Climb the Great Temple Mound, explore the Earth Lodge and discover the stories of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation who has called this land home for generations.
Adventure Like An All-Star
Step into the world of Georgia sports at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, where interactive exhibits let you experience the excitement of competition and learn about some of the state’s greatest athletes.
Then, trade the exhibits for the stands and cheer on the home team. Catch a Macon Bacon baseball game and keep an eye out for Kevin, the giant bacon mascot who's always bringing the sizzle.
When the temperature drops, the action moves to the ice. Catch the Macon Mayhem for a fast-paced hockey game and meet Mac the Barbarian, the team’s chaos-loving mascot.

When it’s time to cool off, Macon has plenty of ways to make a splash.
Grab a kayak or cast a line at Amerson River Park, where trails, river views and outdoor adventures make it easy to spend the day outside. For a classic summer day, head to Lake Tobesofkee for sandy beaches, swimming, tubing and time on the water.
