Father's Day Itinerary in Macon

MORNING BRUNCH AND DRINKS

Start the day with a Father’s Day brunch at H & H Restaurant. This historical soul-food stop has operated since 1959 and is known for its delicious southern cuisine that fueled the Allman Brothers Band in the early 1970s. Today it is still bustling with businesses and is a favorite by locals and visitors alike. We recommend starting with the Soul Rolls and then moving on to their breakfast or lunch menu, depending on your taste at the hour! They have a wide variety of biscuit combinations like the Midnight Rider which has fried chicken with bacon jam and pimento cheese. Is your mouth watering yet?

Continue the day by making a pit stop or two at a local brewery. Piedmont Brewery and Kitchen unique home brews such as IPAS like the Sunshine Daydream or try their new sour, Smiley Faces. If you drive to the Historic Ingleside Village, you can visit Society Garden, a beer garden with live music every weekend.

This Sunday, the children can participate in the "Father's Day Kids Painting Class" at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Let dad sit back and relax with a craft beer or refreshing cocktail while the kids get creative! Bonus: They also have an area for children with a slide and ping pong table.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

After filling up at one of our local restaurants or breweries, it’s time to make your way to a day filled with fun activities. Macon Rocks is a rock climbing gym that provides both a healthy and memorable hobby with your family. The gym has rock climbing courses for all skill levels so there's no need to be intimidated.

Maybe you want to reconnect with the outdoors this Father’s Day? A family fishing trip on the lake always creates memories that will last a lifetime.

Head to Lake Tobesofkee this weekend to enjoy fishing, swimming, and sunbathing on the beaches.

EVENING

If you are still looking to spoil dad a bit more, there’s no better way than a top-notch dinner! Try out Dovetail on Cherry Street which features unique southern dishes and their bar boasts 70 distinctive whiskeys!

A new restaurant to experience in Macon is found within Hotel Forty-Five and is called Loom. The restaurant pays homage to the area with southern cuisine that is locally sourced and innovative while maintaining tradition. If you head upstairs, you can end the night with a drink while overlooking downtown Macon at Hightales Roof Top bar.
