MACON, GA (March 12, 2024) — It’s almost here! The Pink Provisions Preview Party event on Poplar Street is slated to kick-off the 10-day ‘Pink Provisions Trail’ which will return in celebration of the 2024 International Cherry Blossom Festival, March 15-24.
The Pink Provisions Trail was established and distributed via a free download available on the GooglePlay or Apple app stores within the Tour Macon app for the first time in 2023. The Pink Provisions Trail highlights all of the pink-themed food and drinks that businesses throughout all of Macon, beyond just the Downtown corridor. With the wild success of last year’s trail shown through a substantial amount of votes, app downloads and overall online buzz, Visit Macon is now bringing you the Pink Provisions Preview Party!
“Last year, we had almost 40 pink-themed items from 28 businesses submitted in the spirit of Macon’s largest event of the year,” explains Marisa Rodgers, Director of Marketing at Visit Macon. “We saw nearly 500 downloads of the app during the festival timeframe alone, and we know that our visitors love to have the option. It was great to see Macon businesses thriving during the Festival with hundreds of votes on these pink-themed goodies!”
This is a brand new outdoor food and beverage event that is designed to offer a sampling of many of the Pink Provision Trail items, in-person on Poplar Street between MLK Jr. Blvd. and Third Street on March 15th.
From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., patrons can expect small bite specials and curated cocktails from more than 22 local restaurants, as well as, live music featuring a jazz ensemble headlined by Sam Stephens of 100.9 The Creek FM!
Visit Macon through efforts with our public relations agency, have invited several travel writers to also taste the treats and then vote for their favorite, with the Media’s Choice Award! Tickets are available for pre-purchase. (Tickets are used in place of cash, one ticket equals one dollar and these will be the only form of payment accepted to purchase the food and drinks).
Of course, the Pink Provision Trail will once again be offered on the Tour Macon app from March 15th to the 24th. This year over twenty restaurants will serve up both savory and sweet combinations such as Lychee Hibiscus Cocktails and Pork Belly Bites with Horishino Cherry sauce at Kinjo or Layers’ many delicious cakes like the Pink Dream, Strawberry Cheesecake or Cherry Cordial Cake. Patrons of that evening’s ball will also have time to stop in if they choose!” explains Lucy Hughes, Marketing & Special Events Manager for Visit Macon. “We just wanted to create an elevated outdoor food festival with great music in support of the hardworking Cherry Blossom team.”
