Spirits In October; Lies and Alibis
Overview
Exceptional southern storytelling will be alive and well in Historic Riverside Cemetery this fall. Riverside Cemetery and Conservancy’s Spirits in October offer a guided walking tour that represent the spirits of some of Macon’s most fascinating characters. Stroll through the beautiful 126-year old cemetery grounds in Historic Riverside Cemetery on the only historical tour in central Georgia that offers visitors a glimpse into the past, complete with costumed actors portraying captivating stories of Macon’s history.
Tours begin at 6:00 PM and depart from the Gatehouse every 15 minutes. The cemetery asks that guests arrive 15 minutes prior to tour time. Each tour's final stop will be inside the beautiful Macon Public Mausoleum, with light refreshments.
Spirits in October is not a scary ghost tour. It’s about honoring and sharing the stories of the fascinating people who came before us to make Macon what it is today. The museum shop will have T-shirts, relevant books, gifts and souvenirs. All proceeds benefit the Conservancy’s 501(c)(3).
