Sunshine & Southern Charm
Enveloped in nature, Macon offers plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the sun. Feel the breeze cool your skin as you paddle through peaceful waterways or work your way through wooded trails to see our local wildlife.
Here's where to start!
Barks N Brews
Make your stay feel like home – bring the whole family with you! Macon has something to offer for adults, children and furry friends. Barks N Brews is a private, off-leash dog park with seating under the sunshine and a bar. Ruff-erees will watch over the dogs to make sure everyone is having a good time.
People are free! Let your four-legged friends have the time of their lives with friends, toys and pup-approved play structures. There are even kiddie pools to help them cool off!
Ocmulgee River
Enjoy the sun while exploring Macon's wildlife and forests along the Ocmulgee River. Float downstream in a tube, or find the mode that works best for you. Learn all about the area on a guided kayak, paddle-board or canoe adventure – or rent your own gear!
Take in the scenic view while flyfishing. Need some assistance? Not a problem! Guides will help you find the best spots to strike fishing gold.
Lake Tobesofkee
This beautiful body of water has been a place for the community to gather since the 1960s. Lake Tobesofkee is nearly 1,800 acres and has 35 miles of shoreline across three parks. Come sun bathe, play beach volleyball, camp, picnic and more on the sandy, white beaches!
Don't skip out on the water works. Fishing, boating, sailing and water skiing at Lake Tobesofkee are a dream. Seeing the sun rays hit the water will truly stun you.
Dauset Trails Nature Center
Dauset Trails has animal exhibits, bike and nature trails and horseback riding. This private, non-profit 2,000 acre animal sanctuary was established in 1978. This safe haven for animals is dedicated to ensuring their safety while educating young minds about nature and Georgia's diverse ecosystems.
They have over 70 Georgia native animals and can tell you each of their survival stories. Each animal has been deemed non-releasable because of their injuries, so Dauset Trails provides them a life of peace until they are rehabilitated. Over 50 animals were able to return home last year.
Rigby's Water World
Rigby's Entertainment Complex is home to their very own Water World entertainment park with 17 slides across 23 acres of land. This will bring fun in the sun to a whole new level – and for the whole family!
Shoot at high speeds down slippery slides, bask in the laziest river in town or let out your energy at the toddler splash pad. Rigby's offers day and season passes! Opening weekend is May 16th & 17th, but Rigby's Entertainment Complex is open for skating, arcades games and laser tag all year.
