Macon Music with Mike Farris Live at Capricorn | Macon, Georgia - Where Soul Lives
"There is something about this place that is really, really deep and spiritual... and beautiful. That's the number one thing that sets Macon apart."
Mike Farris was raised in the "sacred South" and like so many others found himself inspired by the musical legends that recorded in the "Birthplace of Southern Rock" that is Macon, Georgia. Going on to road with his heroes the Allman Brothers, and for a time he even was part of the Capricorn label. He was the founder and lead singer of Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, but has been a solo act since 2001. Farris' music tends to be rooted in early American gospel and blues.
Mike Farris recently headlined an intimate show at Capricorn Sound Studios as part of the recurring "Live at Capricorn" series. He shared with us what Macon, Georgia means to him and what is was like to find the beautifully preserved Historic Studio A at Capricorn which is the very heart and soul of Capricorn's history. And, how his newest album encapsulates a huge part of what Macon did for music! And how Macon, Georgia has made its mark and "ain't going nowhere."
