Macon Music at the The Grand Opera House
First opened in 1905, the Grand Opera House has played host to some of the most notable performances in history!
From Lillian Russell and Maude Adams (Broadway’s original Peter Pan) -- to Harry Houdini who cut nine doors into the Grand’s stage for his illusions, one of which has been preserved -- and Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, as well as, countless Vaudeville troupes.
In the era of the Southern Rock explosion bands like The Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band and so many more graced this historic stage!
Today, The Grand is home to Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra and continues to welcome nationally touring broadway productions and live musical & theatrical performances of all types!
