The "Crisco" House
Overview
Built-in 1901 and designed by Alexander Blair III, this beautiful home was built for Wallace E. McCaw, who was the president of Macon Manufacturing. The company produces soap and oil and according to several records, he invented a process for hydrogenating cottonseed oil and the product would raise the interest of Procter and Gamble, who brought the formula and would later be sold as Crisco!
The home is private but you can walk by it and observe the beautiful architecture!
