Skydog 78 Music Festival
Overview
On what would have been Duane Allman’s 60th birthday, the Skydog Music Festival (60) got its start. It continues as the annual benefit concert that celebrates the life and music of Duane Allman, aka “Skydog.” Attendees will hear songs that Duane played and/or inspired as a host of talented musicians join together to make for one very special day of music. The proceeds provide outreach to a need that we believe Duane would give to today, were he alive: helping the poor, hungry, and homeless. To date, the festival has hosted thousands of fans, provided resources for many in need, and given dozens of talented musicians a place to express the music of Skydog and his influence on them.
The Depaul USA Daybreak Center provides services to individuals facing the immediate crisis of homelessness in Macon, Georgia. It is a welcoming place where individuals can receive a hot meal, relax, wash up, do laundry, and speak with a social worker.
Daybreak cannot operate without volunteers and donations from the community. That’s why the Skydog Music Festival asks each attendee for a collection of donation items in lieu of an admission fee. After the music is over, all items collected are given directly to the Daybreak Center to enrich the lives of people right here in Macon.
Adults and kids age 12 and up, bring 10 or more of the following items for admission to the festival. These items will be donated to DePaul USA—Daybreak Macon to benefit the homeless.
- Paper towels
- Spray deodorant
- Double/triple blade razors

- Pine-sol
- Vinegar
- Coffee
- Body wash
- Lawn trash bags (33 gallon or larger)
