Lizella Reign Plays the Garden
Overview
One of Macon's most popular bands today, Lizella Reign is a collection of seasoned veterans of the Macon music scene. Guitarist and vocalist Phil Palma spent time as a roadie for The Allman Brothers Band, and played with Joe Dan Petty in The Lifters. Guitar/vocal counterpart, Ken Wynn, cut his teeth in the Tim Brooks School of Music, was a house guitarist at dearly departed Macon venue Whiskey River, and is a perennial member of the Skydog Music Fest ensemble. Wynn is also a session player at Paul Hornsby’s Muscadine Studio, and is a member of E.G Kight’s band, which is currently nominated for a Blues Music Award.
Gary Porter, also a longtime member of EG Kight's band and the Skydog ensemble, plays drums, harmonica and sings. Gary’s better half, Rhonda Porter, a noted session vocalist, brings her talents to the band as well. Bassist Tim Pinson has frequently backed Chris Hicks and played in several noted middle Georgia bands, most recently Fairweather Pilot. Keyboardist Jerry Baker, an alumnus of both Tim and Gregg Brooks' band, rounds out Lizella Reign.
