Overview
The Ansley Stewart Band, a group of Georgia music heavyweights, is coming to Grant's Lounge on Wednesday, Dec. 4, to sub for Macon Music Revue, who are off playing a private gig. Echoing the halls of 1960s soul singers with the most powerful gospel depth, combined with the Athens, GA college radio waves of the 1990s, comes an eclectic, thoughtful, and passionate voice that is Ansley Stewart. The vocalist rightfully surrounds herself with the best of the best: Darren Stanley (Drums - Perpetual Groove, Ozone Squeeze, Jimmy Herring, Col. Bruce Hampton), Nick Johnson (Guitar - Randall Bramblett), Billy Thornton (Guitar - Ansley Stewart), and Robby Handley (Bass - Lera Lynn, ATL Collective Music Director). With the Macon Christmas Light Extravaganza in full swing, it's the perfect night to come out to Grant's, have a holiday cocktail and catch a band that will knock you for a loop they're so rooted in groove and soul.
